I remember when Barton last came to one of our quarterly luncheons. It was before he moved back to Waco and when we were still meeting at Raymond’s, out on I-35 in Lorena. Everyone kept waiting to get our individual tickets… and then were informed that Barton had picked up the tab for the whole group. Such a nice gesture! Barton was always so humorous and nice and will be missed.

One thing I’ll always remember– Remember how we used to be so big on alphabetical order? Obviously that always put Barton at the end of the line. One time we were called to line up and Barton, in mock frustration, said I am changing my name to Aaron Aaron!!!

Bart was one of the first of my classmates that Jan met. She is 4’11, He stood to meet her, she said he just kept on getting up. Zack was my pal from JR High School sports through WHS, my being small, he was always my protector. Jan and I are saddened with his passing.

I wish I could be there on Friday but I’m going to a long planned family reunion. Barton knew a lot of my family and wish he could be there with us. Barton’s passing really hit close to home. Wish his family peace and comfort.
