Noah Appleton

I am sad to report the death of another one of our graduates.  Although Noah died in November, it was only published in the Waco paper today.

I do so hate to report deaths during the holiday season, but there really is no good time to report the passing of any graduate.  However, we can look back on the fun times and memories that were shared so long ago when we were all young.

Noah attended our reunion in 1985 – I have included a photo taken of him at that time.

Back in 1960, Noah was the Scarecrow in the Senior Chorus Production of  The Wizard of Oz.

Rest in peace, Noah.

  1. From Jeanne (Holland) Harman …
I was in Senior Chorus with Noah and remember him as such a nice person. He matured to be such a distinguished-looking man—why, he could have been a movie star–Reminds me somewhat of George Hamilton.

  2. From Sharon (McCarthy) Odell …
We are losing way too many of our WHS friends. So very sorry to learn about Noah’s passing. I hadn’t seen him since high school and was so glad to visit with him at our reunion.

  3. From Larry Thomas …
It is always a mixed blessing to see one of our class gone, but a blessing to know how they lived and contributed to society.

  4. From Phyllis Brooks …
Noah, his sister Sharon, and my brother and I played a duet on the piano when we were taking piano from Mrs. Buchanan (Clara Sue’s grandmother). So sorry, to hear of his passing. Betty is not suffering anymore and is at peace.

So sorry to hear about the loss of my favorite “Scarecrow”!!!!! What fun we had on the “Yellow Brick Road” at Baylor’s Waco Hall. Precious memories for all of us in “The Wizard of Oz” so many years ago. I loved sweet Noah!!!
