Herman Ray Londenberg

Herman Ray Londenberg, of Thornton, passed away at his residence Wednesday, December 16, 2009. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, December 21, at Peace Lutheran Church, 9301 Panther Way in Hewitt, Texas, with Pastor Stephen Rynearson officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, December 20, at the Groesbeck Funeral Home.

Herman was born April 13, 1942, in Waco, Texas, to Herman Adolf and Christine (Mitchell) Londenberg. He graduated from Waco High School and retired from the U. S. Army Reserve and civilian service after 30 years. In 1993, he went to work for Groesbeck ISD as a bus mechanic and retired April 30, 2009, after 16 years of service. He married Sandy Lanell Oates November 12, 2005, in Thornton.

Herman was preceded in death by his father, Herman Adolf Londenberg; and grandson, Jonathan. Herman is survived by his wife, Sandy (Oates) Londenberg of Thornton; mother, Christine Londenberg of Waco; daughter, Stacy Sims of Spring, Texas; son, Joel Londenberg of San Antonio; two sisters, Beverly Rebando and husband, Pete of Waco and Linda Lovegrove and husband, Robert of Waco; two stepdaughters, Stacy Downes of Waco and Rachel Elmore of Groesbeck; five nieces and nephews; and 13 great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Larry McGilvray, Michael Milnes, Bubba Stone, Matthew Dawley, Gilbert Londenberg, Edwin Londenberg, and Otto Caldwell. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Herman's honor may be made to Vista Care.
